Ever wondered how The Guardian creates beautiful interactive longreads? There are tools for that! We will introduce you to the online tool Atavist in which you tell a (longer) story using text, video, photo and audio

Remember the Homework?
Think about the most impressive, beautiful or sad story of your life and bring 4 pictures that have anything to do with that story.Now start your own scrollie.
No idea?
Just start with a real story or a fantasy and collect some photo’s from the web. Press your creativity button. And note: you don’t have to publish!
1. Collect photo’s, sound, movies, etc. as a file in your atavist-workshop map.
2. Or: go to the URL with your photo or text to copy the photo when you need it. You can also embed Youtube and Instagram.
3. First write the header and subheader and save. You can choose different letters and sizes and upoload a photo.
Now we start our own scrollie. Press add your project and begin with adding a title. You can choose for different designs in the left column.
IMPORTANT Press ‘Save’ in the upper right corner of the page after each block you make.
By using the + button you can add images, embeds (Youtube), maps, gif’s etc to your page.
After adding press ‘Done’.
Press on the two squares in the right lower corner to you back to the page or to choose for other sections.
Try as many of the possible inserts you can think of.
This is only to make the first step in the life of the happy scrollieteller.
